• What is Teddy Tennis?

  Teddy Tennis is an exciting and innovative tennis program designed specifically for young children, ages 2 to 6. Using a fun, story-based approach with music and songs written specifically for tennis activities for young children, Teddy Tennis teaches basic tennis skills through interactive lessons that incorporate music, games, and positive reinforcement. It focuses on developing motor skills, hand-eye coordination, self-esteem, and a love for physical activity.

• How old do children need to be to join Teddy Tennis?

  Teddy Tennis classes are designed for children aged 2.5 to 6 years. We have three age-specific groups:
  →  2.5 – 3 years
  →  3 – 4.5 years
  →  4.5 – 6 years

• Can a 2.5-year-old really play or learn to play tennis?

  These are not formal tennis lessons. This program is more of an introduction and preparation for tennis. At this age in particular, kids need to have fun, and the activities prepare them without their realizing they are developing skills they will later build upon. Whether your child is ready depends on each child’s maturity and abilities. If you are not sure, you can bring your child to try one lesson, and we will evaluate their readiness.

• My son is 6; is he too old for Teddy Tennis?

  This varies by individual. Some kids still enjoy Teddy Tennis at this age, especially when there are more kids their age in the group. Others are ready to move on to more advanced training.

• Do you offer lessons for older kids?

  Yes. These are not Teddy Tennis-inspired lessons anymore. They are part of a more advanced program, but until pre-teen age, they are still children, so the lessons reflect that. If you are interested in those, contact Coach Paul to discuss your situation and goals.

• Do you have continuous lessons every week throughout the year, or how are your classes scheduled? Can my child start anytime?

  The program is divided into 10-week (10-lesson) sessions that build upon each other. Most popular programs offer four such sessions during the year. Your child can join anytime if there is space available. It is best if the child attends the full session. Students receive a graduation certificate after completing the entire session, along with report cards at key milestones and rewards after each lesson, keeping them motivated and engaged as they progress to the next, slightly more advanced level.

• What are the benefits of Teddy Tennis for my child?

  Teddy Tennis provides numerous benefits:

  – Confidence Building: Through fun, positive reinforcement in every lesson.

• What do I need to bring to a Teddy Tennis class?

  Children should wear:
  – Comfortable sports clothing
  – Non-marking tennis shoes or sneakers (required to ensure safety)
  – A water bottle to stay hydrated

  You do not need to bring tennis equipment, as we provide child-friendly racquets and balls. Our equipment is also available for purchase if you or your child would like that.

• How is Teddy Tennis different from other children's sports programs?

• What are the class sizes? How many children per instructor?

  Teddy Tennis maintains small class sizes to ensure each child receives adequate attention and supervision. Class ratios range from 6–10 children per instructor (typically 8–10), with additional assistants for larger groups, but normally classes don’t exceed 12 students. This allows for personalized guidance, safe instruction, and meaningful engagement for every child.
